The short version

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts.
I host every file, including the fonts, on the site itself, so your browser contacts no third party when you read a page.
My host keeps short technical logs to deliver and protect the site.
Some links earn me a commission. The shop, not this site, records that you came from here.

Hosting and server logs

Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) hosts this site through Cloudflare Pages and protects it from attacks. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technical data your browser sends: your IP address, the date and time, the page you requested, the referring page and your browser and operating system. Cloudflare needs this data to deliver the page and keep the site secure, and deletes or anonymises it after a short period.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare may process data in the USA; it holds certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and I rely on that adequacy decision and on Cloudflare’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Cookies

This site sets no cookies of any kind, so it has no cookie banner. If that ever changes, I will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links to online shops. If you click one, the shop may record that you arrived from Hit Wound Save, usually with a cookie that its own site sets once you are there. That happens under the shop’s privacy policy, not mine. I never receive your name or any other personal data from the shop, only anonymous reports of commissions earned.

Emailing me

If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps towards a contract if you ask about one (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). I delete the correspondence once I no longer need it, unless the law requires me to keep it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). I will update this page if the site changes how it handles data, for example if I ever add analytics. The date at the top shows the latest version.
